The recovery of the train back to Nottingham so that the line can be reopened is still in progress. This is expected to now be completed by 1530.

How does this affect my train?

Some trains on the routes cannot run in the Grantham direction only between Nottingham and Grantham and some may have to be diverted an alternative route not being able to stop at Grantham.

Some trains from Skegness towards Nottingham will also be cancelled until our normal timetable can resume.

At present EMR is now expecting the line to fully reopen by 3:30 pm.

Normal train service is expected to resume on the affected routes at around 1715.

EMR said:

‘You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed by up to 60 minutes. We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

‘We are currently looking at alternative arrangements to keep you on the move. Customers travelling between Grantham & Peterborough and Peterborough & Ely/Norwich may use their tickets on alternative operators services.

‘Customers travelling from Skegness towards Boston, Sleaford & Grantham will have a rail replacement bus service available estimated to be from 1630.’
