There is a fault with the signalling system at Sileby Junction, which is between Sileby and Loughborough.
9:40 am Tuesday 21 March – This is disrupting trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham/Derby and the Loughborough/Nottingham/Leicester/Lincoln/Grimsby routes.
Network Rail has a team on site investigating the problem.
The engineers are currently unable to give a clear estimated time for repair.
East Midlands Railways said:
‘Due to the fault with the signalling system Network Rail can only allow two trains per hour while they fix the problem.
‘The London St Pancras/Nottingham/Derby fast services running through the area will be cancelled and Loughborough/Nottingham/Leicester/Lincoln/Grimsby services running through the area will terminate at Nottingham.
‘The slow London St Pancras/Nottingham/Derby will run as planned.
‘At present we don’t have an estimated time for repair.
‘As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We don’t have a time for when our advertised timetable will resume.’
