Rail: Nottingham – London services affected after person hit by a train

A person has been hit by a train between Luton and Bedford.

This has occurred between Luton and Bedford, and is disrupting our trains on the Intercity route.

Emergency services are on site managing the incident.

East Midlands Railways said:

‘Trains running through the area in both directions currently cannot run between Luton and Bedford.

‘Currently we have no estimate for when the line will reopen.

‘We expect the route to reopen gradually, with slow lines opening first.

‘As soon as the lines begin to reopen, our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.

‘Currently, we do not expect to resume our advertised service for the remainder of the day.
