Rail: Nottingham – London St Pancras lines closed – overhead wire damage

There is damage to the overhead electric wires at Luton.

East Midlands Railways said:

‘This is disrupting our trains on the Sheffield / Nottingham / London St Pancras and the Corby / Luton Airport Parkway / London St Pancras routes.
Network Rail are investigating the extent of the damage and at present all lines are closed.

How does this affect my train?

‘Trains running through the area in both directions are currently unable to run. This is while Network Rail investigate the damage to the wires.
At present we have no estimate for when the lines can re open. We are expecting disruption to our services for the remainder of the evening.

‘Our trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations. You should use alternative routes which will be most comfortable and quickest way to get where you need to be.
