There is a fault with the signalling system at West Hampstead between Wellingborough and London St Pancras.
This is affecting services on ther Intercity London St Pancras/Sheffield/Derby Nottingham route and also our Connect trains.
East Midlands Railway said:
‘Engineering work is also taking place between Leicester and Kettering, resulting in our Intercity (Sheffield-London St Pancras and Nottingham-London St Pancras) services running between Sheffield/Nottingham and Leicester only.
‘The engineering work means our Connect (Corby-London St Pancras) route was only due to operate between Wellingborough and London St Pancras today.
‘This engineering work meant our trains were kept in London overnight and we cannot get these onto the network to run our service whilst the signalling remains faulty.
‘Network Rail has engineers working to fix the signalling, but we currently expect these issues to continue all day today, Wednesday 27 December.’
