Severe weather is causing delays on train services.
East Midlands Railway said on Thursday 21 December:
‘Due to severe weather there is damage to the overhead electric wires between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe is causing disruption to journeys between these stations.
‘This is causing delays on our Crewe/Derby/Nottingham route. Services may be cancelled or revised.
‘We anticipate disruption will continue until 10:00.’
‘Trains running through the area in both directions cannot run.
At present we are expecting the problem to be resolved by 10:00. As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.’
