East Midlands Railway is advising passengers not to travel this route today but to use their ticket tomorrow.
East Midlands Railway said on Sunday 24 November:
‘There is heavy rain flooding the railway at Rushton. This is between Kettering and Leicester and is disrupting our trains on the London St Pancras/ Nottingham/ Sheffield route.
‘Network Rail are on site monitoring the water levels. Due to the heavy rain there is also a bankslip in the area.
‘This means it is now unsafe for us to run our services on the Intercity route between Kettering and Leicester. Unfortunately the diversionary route we would usually have is not available, also because of flooding.’
#EMRUpdate Our services are suspended in and out of London, we are unable to run any trains this evening because of heavy rain flooding the railway and causing multiple bank-slips. This will be for the remainder of the evening. Further info here: https://t.co/zBQ0Sh7Yim

‘We are currently unable to run any trains between Kettering and Leicester until further notice. This means our services departing London, Derby, and Nottingham are likely to be suspended for the rest of the evening.
‘Trains between Wellingborough and Corby will also be affected due to congestion caused by trains unable to move from stations.
‘This disruption is expected to last throughout the evening. We will work with Network Rail overnight to determine when the railway will be available for us to resume services.’
