Rail: Trespasser on tracks causing delays Nottingham – London services

There is a trespasser on the railway near Knighton. This is between Market Harborough and Leicester and is disrupting trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham/Sheffield routes.

East Midlands Trains said:

At present British Transport Police are trying to apprehend the individual.

No trains on the routes can run in either direction between Market Harborough and Leicester.

Some services will take a diversionary route between Leicester and Kettering, which can add up to 40 minutes to the journey times.

At present EMT is expecting the line to fully reopen in the next 2 hours.

Normal train service is expected to resume on the affected routes at around 1730..

You should continue to travel as originally planned however your journey may be delayed or subject to late notice alteration.  We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

Customers may use alternative routes as listed below:

Any reasonable route with Cross Country. LNER services Doncaster/Grantham/Peterborough to London King’s Cross.

Buses are being sourced to run between Leicester-Market Harborough-Kettering.
