Police thanked the residents for support dealing with the incident – and for the ice creams.
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said:
‘Worksop Safer Neighbourhood Team have been assisting Notts Fire & Rescue over the last couple of days at Ranskill.
‘We would like to say a big Thank You to residents of Ranskill for their support at the various cordons, providing much needed refreshments.
‘Ranskill residents have also all chipped in to fund an ice cream van to attend the area to provide ice creams for emergency service personnel.
