Holly Essuman is the Executive Director of The Reformer Studio, leaving a background in luxury travel in 2019 to open Nottingham’s first Reformer Pilates studio, four years later and The Reformer Studio is about to launch its flagship studio in West Bridgford.
The brand new studio will be on Gordon Road.
Holly told The Wire:
‘I have lived in West Bridgford since graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2011 so to open our doors in West Bridgford has always been in the grand expansion plans.
‘Our first studio opened in the Lace Market, July 2019, we were open for 8 months before Covid hit, I used this time to write a Dynamic Reformer Pilates Qualification which is now accredited by Active IQ.
‘Our doors opened after Covid and the studio really became a sanctuary, an escape (a safe escape) from everyday life!
‘A place to restore, relax, unwind, spend time focusing on you, your mental health and just learning how to breath, whilst working damn hard on the Reformer.
‘One of my members once described the studio as ‘the most polite form of torture’, it’s really not that bad I promise!
‘From the start my vision was to bring a holistic exercise to any body and every body and really create a ‘safe’ space, the studios are beautiful, very aesthetic, light and clean. We have our own studio scent which smells as if you are entering a spa, we have plants to bring new life & oxygen, and our own in house DJ who creates all our playlists.
‘We have Reform Foundation, Progressive Foundation & our signature ‘Reform Body’ classes which are accessible to all levels and found in all studios.
‘We have HIIT which uses the jumpbaord which goes on the end of the Reformer, it’s a lot of fun and much kinder to the pelvic floor. We have fusion classes which our instructors draw from their personal background, for example ‘Reform X Barre’ & ‘Reform X Box’.
‘West Bridgford is set to open beginning of June 2023.
‘I have waited a long time for the perfect location in West Bridgford and pleased to announce that Gordon Road will be our new home, sandwiched between some of my favourite independent coffee shops & delicatessens.’
