Residents in Upper Saxondale in Rushcliffe are being asked to give their views on a second round of consultation on the possible creation of a Parish Council for the village.
After reviewing feedback from the first consultation which ended in May, Rushcliffe Borough Council recommended a separate parish should be set up named Upper Saxondale, governed by Upper Saxondale Parish Council and have seven councillors.
Residents are now being urged to have their say on the proposals before the deadline of Friday August 19.
Each household, local business and community group in the petitioned area has received an information sheet and questionnaire direct to their address.
Residents can complete the form received through the post and return it to FREEPOST RTJY-BGGZ-EKZK, Rushcliffe Borough Council, Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7YG or email consultation@rushcliffe.gov.uk.
Until now the village of Upper Saxondale has been split, part being run by Radcliffe on Trent Parish Council and Cropwell Butler Parish Council.
The different identities of the villages, plus the projected housing growth for Shelford, led to a petition for a new Council being presented last year.
Following the Community Governance Review, of which this consultation is part, should the Council agree to the proposals, the new Upper Saxondale Parish Council would come into effect after local elections in May 2023.
