This year for the first time the RNLI (Lifeboat) has introduced a long-service award for onshore volunteers who have served the RNLI in any capacity for between twenty and twenty-three years.
Graham Christian, John Hawkins, Allan and Ann Jordan of the West Bridgford RNLI branch have been awarded the 20 years service badge, but owing to the coronavirus pandemic there was no formal presentation.
Graham was branch secretary for a number of years; and is currently the West Bridgford branch Press Officer.
John was the Branch Press Officer for a number of years and is currently the branch Chairman, Allan has been the treasurer for many years and still holds that post, Ann was the branch Chairman for a number of years and is now the Branch President.
Next year will be the branches’ 50th anniversary.
