Road closed after serious collision and ‘fight’ in Selston

A road has been closed after a serious collision which followed a disturbance in Selston.

Officers are on the scene dealing with the incident which was reported at 6.23pm today (Saturday 25 July) and have shut the B600 Nottingham Road at its junctions with Alfreton Road and Lindley Street.

The collision is believed to have happened after a fight involving a number of people in Alfreton Road. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.

Detective Inspector Sam Austin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The investigation is in its very early stages and officers are working to establish the circumstances of what has happened.

“A number of officers are in the area speaking to people and I would urge any witnesses to get in touch as soon as possible.”The B600 Nottingham Road has been closed and we appreciate people’s patience while the investigation is carried out.”
