Fire crews remain at the scene of a commercial property fire in Retford this morning after a large incident on Monday night.
‘Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said its control room received a high volume of calls at around 8.55pm on Monday 27 April about a fire at a commercial property on Hospital Road.’
Residents affected by smoke were asked to keep doors and windows closed, while people were also urged to avoid the area.
By 9.45pm, seven fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, a water carrier and a command support vehicle were in attendance.
At 11pm, the incident was beginning to scale down, but fire crews were expected to remain at the scene for several hours to damp down.
In an update at 6.10am, the fire service said Hospital Road remained closed while crews continued damping-down work.
Hallcroft roundabout had reopened, but disruption to local bus services was still likely.
Two crews and an aerial ladder platform remained at the scene and were expected to stay there for several more hours.
No injuries have been reported in the updates issued so far.
