Robin Hood Marathon: Major bus service disruption all morning on Sunday

The Robin Hood Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 24th September, affecting NCT Navy, Green, Pink and Orange Line services and Trent Barton services.

Some services will be diverted, with Pink 30 and Orange 34 suspended until the early afternoon. Buses on diversion will observe all stops. Timings shown are approximate and diversions may begin and end earlier or later than advertised.

From 08:30 and for most of the morning, we will not be able to serve these areas because of road closures and diversions:

  • Railway Station
  • QMC (between approx. 09:00-12:00)
  • Derby Road
  • Meadows
  • Queens Drive
  • Riverside Retail Park
  • Ilkeston Road (away from the City)

Navy 1:

From 08:30 until approx. 13:30:

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Trent Bridge (Victoria Embankment stop is closed) and then continue along London Road to the BBC Island, continuing along Bellar Gate, Cranbrook Street, Parliament Street (full length), Maid Marian Way, Friar Lane to Beastmarket Hill.
  • Buses towards Clifton will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, right London Road to resume normal route from Trent Bridge.

 

Diversion route for Navy 1 and 48 phase 1

Between 09:20 and 10:20, London Road is closed in both directions and buses will take the following alternative route:

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to County Hall then right Radcliffe Road, left Lady Bay Bridge, right Meadow Lane, left Manvers Street, left Southwell Road, right Lower Parliament Street, left Hockley, right Cranbrook Street to the Victoria Centre area, continuing along Parliament Street, left Maid Marian Way, left Friar Lane to Beastmarket Hill.
  • Buses towards Clifton will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, Fisher Gate, Pennyfoot Street, right Manvers Street to Lady Bay Retail Park, right Meadow Lane, left Lady Bay Bridge, continue Radcliffe Road, right Abbey Road, right Davies Road, right Gordon Road, Central Avenue, Bridgford Road to the Cricket Ground, left Loughborough Road to resume normal route.

 

Diversion route for Navy 1 and 48 phase 2

Green 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9

From 08:30 until approx. 13:30:

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Trent Bridge (Victoria Embankment stop is closed) and then continue along London Road to the BBC Island, left Canal Street, right Middle Hill to resume normal route to Victoria Centre
  • Buses towards West Bridgford will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, right London Road to resume normal route from Trent Bridge.

    • Green 7 will turn left on to Davies Road to resume normal route

Green 10

From 08:30 until approx. 13:30:

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Trent Bridge (Victoria Embankment stop is closed) and then continue along London Road to the BBC Island, left Canal Street, right Middle Hill to resume normal route to Victoria Centre
  • Buses towards Ruddington will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, right London Road to resume normal route from Trent Bridge.

There will be no service through the Meadows until approx. 13:30.

  • Buses towards Lady Bay will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, right London Road to resume normal route from Trent Bridge.

  • Buses to Bilborough will follow their normal route to Canning Circus then right Alfreton Road, left Aspley Lane, left Western Boulevard, right Beechdale Road to normal route

Pink 30:

There is no suitable diversion route and the service is suspended until early afternoon. The first buses will be:

  • From Wollaton Vale: 13:38
  • From City, Victoria Centre: 13:10

Orange 34:

There is no suitable diversion route and the service is suspended until early afternoon. The first buses will be:

  • From University Park, Beeston Lane (History): 13:12
  • From Broadmarsh Canal Street: 12:41

Orange 35:

The following journeys will operate their normal route in and out of the City Centre, passing QMC:

  • From City: 06:30, 07:00, 08:00, 09:00
  • From Bulwell: 06:12, 07:12 and 08:12

Implemented early at 08:25 due to earlier road closure than advertised.

After this and until approx. 11:45:

Derby Road is closed for most of the morning and we will not be able to serve stops on Derby Road or QMC during this time.

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Wollaton Vale then left Arleston Drive, left Trowell Road, right Glaisdale Drive (full length), right Wigman Road, continue Hollington Road, Beechdale Road, right Western Boulevard (Ring Road), left Wollaton Road, Ilkeston Road to resume normal route from Canning Circus to City.
  • Buses to Bulwell will follow normal route to Cathedral and then at Canning Circus divert along Alfreton Road, left Aspley Lane, left Western Boulevard, right Beechdale Road, Hollington Road, Wigman Road, left Glaisdale Drive (full length), left Trowell Road, right Arleston Drive, right Wollaton Vale to normal route

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to University North Entrance / QMC Roundabout the left Middleton Boulevard to Crown Island, right Wollaton Road and Ilkeston Road to Canning Circus, where they will resume normal route
  • Buses to Bulwell will follow their normal route to Canning Circus then Ilkeston Road, Wollaton Road to Crown Island, left Middleton Boulevard to QMC roundabout, turning right to Derby Road and resuming normal route.

The nearest stop for QMC will be University North Entrance.

The following journeys will operate their normal route in and out of the City Centre, passing QMC:

  • From City: 06:30, 07:30, 08:00, 08:30, 08:55
  • From Chilwell: 05:47, 06:47, 07:17, 07:47, 08:15

Implemented early at 08:25 due to earlier road closure than advertised.

After this and until approx. 11:45:

Derby Road is closed for most of the morning and we will not be able to serve stops on Derby Road or QMC during this time.

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Priory Roundabout then continue along the full length of Wollaton Vale then right Trowell Road, right Glaisdale Drive (full length), right Wigman Road, continue Hollington Road, Beechdale Road, right Western Boulevard (Ring Road), left Wollaton Road, Ilkeston Road to resume normal route from Canning Circus to City.
  • Buses to Chilwell will follow normal route to Cathedral and then at Canning Circus divert along Alfreton Road, left Aspley Lane, left Western Boulevard, right Beechdale Road, Hollington Road, Wigman Road, left Glaisdale Drive (full length), right Trowell Road,left Wollaton Vale (full length) to resume normal route from Priory roundabout.

  • From City: 06:32, 07:32
  • From Clifton 05:58, 06:58, 07:58

After this and until approx. 13:30

  • Buses to City will follow their normal route to Clifton Bridge South and then divert via left Wilford Lane, left Loughborough Road, over Trent Bridge (Victoria Embankment stop is closed), continuing along London Road to the BBC Island, Bellar Gate, Cranbrook Street, Parliament Street (full length), Maid Marian Way, Friar Lane to Beastmarket Hill.
  • Buses towards Clifton will follow their normal route to Broadmarsh Canal Street, then continue Canal Street, right London Road, over Trent Bridge, Loughborough Road, right Wilford Lane (full length) to resume normal route from Clifton Bridge South.

Trent Barton 

o make way for the runners there will be several road closures, which means some of our services will have to divert. This will cause delays throughout the day. We advise you to plan your travel in good time.

There will be a shuttle bus operating from 7.15am until the roads re-open from Friar Lane to Broadmarsh Bus Station, details are at the bottom of the page.


indigo & i4 

From 8am – 1pm i4 and indigo will divert in both directions using Broadmarsh Bus Station. During this time the following stops will be missed:

i4  – all stops from QMC to Friar Lane – using Bay 7 At Broadmarsh

indigo  – all stops from Lace Street to Friar Lane – using Bay 9 at Broadmarsh


skylink Nottingham 

From 8am – 1.30pm skylink Nottingham will divert in both directions. During this time the following stops will be missed:

  • All stops from Lace Street to Friar Lane

skylink express 

From 8.00am – 1.30pm skylink express will miss the following stops towards Nottingham:

  • Nottingham Train Station

From 8.00am – 1.30pm skylink express will miss the following stops towards the Airport:

  • Nottingham Train Station
  • County Hall

the cotgrave & mainline

From 8.00am – 1.30pm the cotgrave and mainline will divert and will miss the following stops towards Nottingham:

  • County Hall to Nottingham Railway Station

From 8am – 1.30pm the cotgrave and mainline will divert and will miss the following stops towards Cotgrave and Bingham:

  • Nottingham Train Station to Radcliffe Road (no buses through West Bridgford)

the keyworth 

From 8.00am – 1.30pm the keyworth will divert and will miss the following stops towards Nottingham:

  • County Hall to Nottingham Railway Station

From 8am – 1.30pm the following stops will be missed towards Keyworth:

  • Nottingham Train Station to Wheatcroft Island

  • QMC

the two

From 8am – 11.45am the two will divert and the following stops will be missed towards Ilkeston:

  • Canning Circus to Glaisdale Drive

Inbound journeys to Nottingham are unaffected.
