Jack Robinson can feel the confidence growing in the Nottingham Forest squad ahead of two trips to London this week.
The Reds dispatched Birmingham City with a convincing display at The City Ground on Saturday and the defender can only see further improvement ahead of matches at Charlton and Fulham.
Speaking after the 3-0 win, he said: “It was the perfect afternoon, much better than last week. We played with much more confidence, the lads looked sharper and it paid off with the win and the result.
“We continued to do what the gaffer wants us to do and we showed it today. We created a lot of opportunities and should have scored more. It was definitely an improved performance from last week.
“I said in the changing room afterwards that I don’t think Aro had a save to make and that shows how well we played today, stopping Birmingham getting their chances and we took ours. It was much better and we can take that forward and hopefully put a few results together.”
It was Forest’s first league win of the season and, despite the convincing manner of victory, Robinson is well aware that the squad can’t get too high ahead of two tough games coming up.
“We can’t get ahead of ourselves,” he said. “We need to keep doing it week in, week out and we want to take this into Wednesday. It is good to get the result and a clean sheet as well, we will take that into the next game and build from there.
“Charlton and Fulham are going to be tough games, but we will see how we go on Wednesday. If we can get a result there, it gives us more confidence for Saturday and then hopefully that is two results for us.
“Then we can keep on improving; it is a long year and a tough league so the more wins we can get the better.”
