Rough Trade Nottingham announces Record Store Day 2024 line-up

Leading independent music retailer Rough Trade is excited to announce the first wave of artists set to perform at its store in Nottingham to celebrate Record Store Day 2024 (RSD).

The line-up for this year’s event, which will take place on Saturday, the 20 April, boasts a diverse mix of artists, established and emerging, including local talent and store favourites, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

From 1 pm to 10 pm, the Broad Street store will host Bristol noise-rockers Heavy Lungs will play in-store alongside Birmingham psych duo Solar Eyes, with additional performances from a slew of the city’s fastest-rising acts, including Otala, Bloodworm, and Cam Mannix.

Sam Allison, Head of Events and Partnerships at Rough Trade, commented: “RSD is something we all look forward to at Rough Trade Nottingham, every year the queue is around the block! We can’t wait to welcome all the artists playing upstairs alongside our regulars and music fans from across the city, as well as those who travel from further afield.

“Some fantastic acts are on the bill this year including Bloodworm, Otala, Midnight Rodeo and more, so make sure you pop down early, grab your records and celebrate independent record shops with us in our signature celebratory style.”

In addition to the impressive lineup, customers will also be able to get their hands on Signature Brew from taps located at the in-store bar.

In the run-up to the big day, a prize draw will be launched in aid of Rough Trade’s charity partner, Campaign Against Living Miserably(CALM). For just £5, customers will be in with a chance of winning a fantastic prize package, including a 12-month subscription to Rough Trade Club and one of the best record players on the market: Cambridge Audio’s beautiful Alva TT turntable.

Similar to previous years, lucky customers will get the opportunity to take home pairs of tickets to Wide Awake and Love Supreme, two of the UK’s best festivals, and special ‘golden tickets’ will be hidden in racks in select Rough Trade locations on Saturday 20th April.

Emily Waller, UK Head of Brand and Content at Rough Trade, commented: “Record Store Day is easily one of our favourite days in the Rough Trade calendar due to the vibrant celebratory nature of the event, which continues to grow year after year.

“Of course, it’s wonderful to see so many people come out and show their appreciation for vinyl, but it’s also just such a great entry-point for those who have never visited a record store before or are curious about what a record store has to offer culturally.

“The diversity of the customers who come through our doors is always expanding, and it’s never more evident than on Record Store Day, a true testament to the importance of community-led events in the independent sector.”
