Ruddington’s monthly Village Market will have a festive twist on Saturday 4th of December, with a larger and longer Christmas Market.
The event will take place on the Village Green and extend along the High Street from 12pm to 7pm.
Over 90 stalls will be tempting visitors with their indulgent sweet treats, while others offer gift inspiration for the whole family.
Some of the products on offer include brownies and doughnuts, unique homewares including candles and plants, food staples such as bread and chocolate, bespoke jewellery, natural dog treats, handmade Christmas cards, and you can even book a Christmas holiday!
Additional events will also take place across the village, with the White Horse Craft Market hosting a further 25 seasonal stalls, the Framework Knitters Museum presenting a ‘Light Knit’ exhibition from 4pm, and more pop-ups and late night shopping in the village centre.
Two stages of live festive music and family friendly entertainment will run throughout the day, hosted by BBC Radio Nottingham’s Sarah Julian and Verity Cowley, concluding with the Jeanie Barton Quartet on the main stage.
Johnny & The Raindrops, Newstead Brass Band and Heartstrong will also be performing, plus interactive street magic, and a special appearance from Santa Claus.
Licensed bars on the village green and the high street will offer craft beers and sustainably produced organic whisky from the UK’s first net zero status distillery Nc’nean, who will be joining us all the way from Scotland. An array of street food stalls will complement the extensive range of village cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Meanwhile, St Peter’s Church will host local community groups such as the WI, Girl Guides and James Peacock School along with a selection of Ruddington artists and crafters, until 3:30pm.
This is the first year that award winning Ruddington Village Centre Partnership (RVCP) have planned the special Christmas event, thanks to sponsorship from William Davis Homes and Thomas James Estate Agents, and support from the European Regional Development Fund.
Vice-Chair of RVCP, Mark Pinks says “Since moving to the Village Green to accommodate social distancing last year, the market has grown in size so that it is only natural that our Christmas market is our biggest yet. We couldn’t do what we wanted for the village last year, so this year we have pulled out all the stops”
