Rufford Country Park gallery reopens with free art exhibition

After closing its doors to exhibitions 4 years ago we are pleased to announce that the Gallery at Rufford Country Park will once again host an exhibition of work by Rufford Art Society.

Rufford Art Society is based at Rufford and held biennial exhibitions there for many years. After the closure of the gallery we have exhibited at the Nottingham Society of Artists Gallery, Clumber Park, Bassetlaw Museum and at West Bridgford Library.

Rufford Art Society said:

‘We’ve always thought of the gallery at Rufford as our home though so we’re thrilled that the management of Parkwood Leisure have agreed to open up the gallery again to house our exhibition which will run from 14th – 28th April.’

Rufford Art Society is a group of artists who meet twice a month to attend workshops run by local artists and society members. Their objective is to develop visual art through a wide range of media, learning traditional skills and stimulating experimental developments.

Previous exhibitions have always been well received and the artists have developed a reputation for high-quality work. Their individual practices incorporate the innovative use of paint, print, text, collage, ceramics and textiles. As a collective, their diverse methods combine and contrast so they present work which appeals to all tastes.

This exhibition promises to be an exciting and varied show, up to their usual stunning standard. All the work will be for sale and will range from exquisite jewellery and ceramics to original prints, mixed media work, textiles and paintings. There will be opportunities to discuss methods and techniques with individual artists and to browse their gallery shop.
