Rugbytots – the world’s favourite rugby-based activity session for children and toddlers – is launching Sunday sessions in West Bridgford next month.
The classes, which are led by Rugbytots’ enthusiastic, engaging and highly qualified coaches, are based around learning through play, and encourage fundamental rugby skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running with the ball – as well as helping to build self-confidence through teamwork.
Rugbytots is a fun, interactive rugby play programme for children aged two to seven that is perfect for developing physical and social skills in an exciting, imaginative way
Rugbytots was launched in West Bridgford on Saturday mornings in September by former Wales international James Ireland after he moved to the area with his young family. And the sessions have proved so popular that Sunday morning classes are beginning in January, running alongside the Saturday ones.
James, who also played for Moseley and Newport Gwent Dragons during his career as a scrum-half, said: “Rugbytots is a fun, interactive rugby play programme for children aged two to seven that is perfect for developing physical and social skills in an exciting, imaginative way.
We are now into our second term and it is amazing to see the progress made by the children in such a short space of time
“West Bridgford has been a great platform from which to launch Rugbytots in Nottingham and we have been overwhelmed by the positive response to our Saturday sessions.
“We are now into our second term and it is amazing to see the progress made by the children in such a short space of time. There is a real buzz and a sense of camaraderie developing at the classes.”
“The Sunday classes will enable us to expose more children to this fantastic programme and will allow us to offer classes to the five-to-seven age group for the first time.”
Great teachers and a great activity to get the kids into. My son absolutely loves it!
Since launching Rugbytots in September, the Saturday classes have received five-star reviews from parents.
Writing on the Rugbytots Nottingham Facebook group, one local dad said: “Great teachers and a great activity to get the kids into. My son absolutely loves it! “All credit to our coach… [he] is amazing and has so much patience and enthusiasm every week.”
