RBC’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Abby Brennan, said:

“This is a really exciting project, and we’re delighted to launch these free courses and workshops funded by UKSPF, helping residents and volunteers to enhance their skills and support their community.

“The courses will take place across the borough at locations such as Cotgrave Futures, Bingham Arena, East Leake Playing Fields, The Key Health Club, Rushcliffe Arena, and more.

“It’s a great opportunity for community group volunteers to develop knowledge and skills in key areas within their organisation. Whether they need support in recruiting volunteers or grant funding applications, all the way through to emergency first aid skills and life-saving CPR and defibrillator training.

“There are over 30 courses running from Monday, 3 March, so please do take a look at the courses available on RBC’s Eventbrite page and book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!”

RCVS Volunteer Centre Coordinator & Rushcliffe Befriends Volunteer Coordinator, Carolyn Herrington, added:

“We proudly support volunteering across Rushcliffe through our Volunteer Centre. We know what an amazing difference volunteering makes to the lives of those who volunteer and to the organisations and individuals they support.

“We are really excited to be partnering with Rushcliffe Borough Council to deliver volunteer-focused training sessions across the borough.

“Our Introduction to Volunteering course is designed for anyone who wants to explore the benefits of volunteering, discover opportunities, and understand the positive impact on both individuals and communities.

Recruiting, Retaining, and Managing Volunteers supports local community groups and organisations by providing guidance on recruiting, retaining, and effectively managing their volunteer teams.

“We look forward to delivering these sessions in Cotgrave, Keyworth, Bingham, West Bridgford, and East Leake.”
