Cllr Simon Robinson, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council comments on the latest lockdown easing announcement.

Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council Cllr Simon Robinson said: “It is a positive day for Rushcliffe as the Prime Minister outlined the roadmap ahead for us all.

“It’s vital we all need to keep playing our part by following the guidance on lockdown for the coming weeks and all the subsequent necessary restrictions but as he stated, it really is about the data being right to lift restrictions and not dates.

“It is welcome news to see the opportunity for so many non-essential retail and hospitality businesses to re-open from mid-April and we will do all we can to support them.

“This is only the start of the gradual process towards life getting back to normal here in the Borough so please remember Hands Face Space at all times.

“I strongly encourage all residents to take up their vaccinations when eligible to do so and get regularly tested so we can all do even more to protect one another.”
