Rushcliffe MP comments on Conservative retention of borough council

After today’s local elections, the Conervatives retained control of Rushlcliffe Boorugh Council.

Of the 44 seats, Conservatives won 25, Labour won 9, Independent won 5, Rushcliffe Independent won 2, Green won 2 and Liberal Democrats 1.

Ruth Edwards MP told The Wire:

“I am delighted that Rushcliffe remains a Conservative-controlled council, which delivers excellent services for the lowest council tax in Nottinghamshire.

“I want to congratulate all the candidates elected today and to thank everyone who stood.

“Throughout the campaign, I have been speaking to people across the constituency and heard their very clear message, that the Conservatives need to continue to focus on delivery nationally as well as locally and to tackle the big issues we all face.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the Council to deliver for people in Rushcliffe.”
