Rushcliffe: Police call Army Bomb Disposal teams after suspicious object found

Neighbourhood police teams in Rushcliffe updated on their activities this week.

Police said:

‘The Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team are out and about on patrol and dealing with anti-social behaviour reports, a dog bite incident in a private place, along with follow-up enquires for commercial burglaries, stalking and football related offences that occurred earlier this year at the City Ground.

‘Our Rushcliffe Response officers have also been busy attending numerous domestic related crimes and non-crime incidents, Road Traffic Incidents and late last night ( Tuesday 17 June ) a report of a suspicious object where they called upon the assistance of the Army explosive ordinance disposal team to examine the object before concluding the item did not pose a danger to the public.’

‘They have also this afternoon arrested a suspected drink-driver after the driver’s poor standard of driving attracted the attention of two detectives who were in Rushcliffe conducting enquiries, the driver has been arrested and is currently in custody.’
