Rushcliffe police engage with communities across the towns and villages

Police in Rushcliffe have been out engaging with communities in the borough.

A spokesperson said:

‘As part of our Policing Pledge to earn the trust and confidence of our communities – and in line with one of the pillars of neighbourhood policing, engaging communities – officers have attended a number of community events in recent days.

‘One of our PCSOs visited the Memory Café in East Leake, while a beat manager attended the U3A meeting in Cotgrave on Tuesday morning to speak to attendees about their communities and any issues or concerns they may have.

‘On Monday evening, a Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant and a beat manager attended the Colston Bassett Parish Council meeting to provide an update on recent events in the area and discuss residents’ concerns in the village.

‘The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to attend local events and meetings where resources allow. With 57 parish and town councils in Rushcliffe, as well as numerous Neighbourhood Watch, Speed Watch, and other community groups, we may not be able to attend every meeting. However, we will endeavour to attend annual general meetings and other significant or large meetings in the area.

‘The policing teams covering Rushcliffe are continuing to work with force and regional units to address the recent increase in burglaries, as mentioned in the Inspector’s blog post.

‘However, with an area of 158 square miles to cover, we rely on the public to report burglaries, attempted burglaries, and suspicious incidents. This enables us to direct resources to the appropriate areas, apprehend suspects, and gather evidence.’
