Motorists can park effortlessly without needing to use a ticket machine by using the RingGo app on their smartphones.
Upon arriving at a car park, users can download the RingGo app, call, text, or pay online at www.myringgo.co.uk. This service is available across the Council’s seven Pay & Display car parks:
- West Bridgford: Bridgford Road, Gordon Road, and Nursery/Albert Road car parks
- Rushcliffe Country Park
- Keyworth: Bunny Lane car park
- Bingham: Needham Street and Newgate Street car parks
Where free parking periods apply in Pay & Display car parks, motorists can obtain a free voucher from the parking machine to benefit from this offer.
However there is a 10p extra charge noted as a ‘convenience charge’ which RingGo charges through the app – if you have the app and look through the map view you’ll see that most Nottingham city car parks don’t have this extra charge, whereas across Rushcliffe the 10p charge is always added to the car parking tariff within the app unless the car park is free.
The 10p never applies to free car parking.
According to RingGo this convenience charge varies by location.
The app sends alerts to users’ phones to notify them when their parking session is nearing expiry, and extensions can be made in just a few simple steps without returning to the vehicle.
This easy-to-use service is already utilised by approximately 50% of users in West Bridgford and has been successfully implemented as the sole payment method at Bingham Arena car park, serving hundreds of motorists monthly.
