Rushcliffe Rotary Club supports Cotgrave Community Kitchen with a ton of food delivered each week

During the pandemic members of Rushcliffe Rotary Club have been busy supporting local community projects.

Cotgrave Community Kitchen, set up in 2019 by Jilly Mathers has provided hot meals delivered door-to-door as well as government-sponsored free food bags.

Rushcliffe Rotary Club has given invaluable logistical assistance by collecting bulk food donations from Fair Share warehouses, the Co-op and other generous contributors from the retail sector.

Over the last nine months this has amounted to over a 1000kgs of food almost every week!

Their commitment has not stopped there.

CCK turn these contributions into free bulk food bags and hot sustaining meals.

The Rotary Club then distributes these to the elderly and disabled in the local community.

The staggering total in that time represents over 40 tons of food and approximately 1,800 hot meals!

This invaluable community work is no short-term solution but an invaluable long-term commitment.
