The school announced the case in a letter to parents.
Rushcliffe School in West Bridgford is the latest of almost 30 schools in the county to be informed by Public Health England that a student has tested positive for coronavirus.
In a letter to parents from Principal Damien Painton, seen by West Bridgford Wire, the school said:
‘We have been informed today that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. They are isolating at home with their family and we wish them a speedy recovery.
‘In line with advice from PHE this means we must send home those students that have been in close contact with the affected individual.
‘We have been given clear guidance on how to determine who this affects.’
The letter goes on to offer advice to parents.
