Ruth Edwards calls for you to nominate your NHS heroes in Rushcliffe for Parliament’s NHS awards

Ruth Edwards is calling for nominees for the official 2023 NHS Parliamentary Awards.

The awards recognise people who have gone above and beyond in this special year as we mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS.

The NHS Parliamentary Awards are a unique opportunity for MPs to highlight the amazing work done by NHS staff in their local areas. Rushcliffe is home to many dedicated NHS workers, who provide a wide range of care, from village GP surgeries to specialist care in the Queens Medical Centre and the City Hospital.

This year there are 10 award categories, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Rising Star Award and, new for 2023, the NHS Volunteer Award. All those who make the national shortlist will be invited to an award ceremony in Westminster to celebrate their fantastic achievements.

Last year, the NHS received over 700 nominations from constituencies across England.

To nominate someone for one of these awards, fill out the nomination form which can be found here and send it to Ruth via email at ruth.edwards.mp@parliament.uk.

Ruth can select Rushcliffe’s nominee and pass on their details to the NHS who will choose the overall winners. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 24th April.

Ruth said:

“I know that NHS workers have had a tough time during the past few years, working tirelessly throughout the pandemic.

“These awards are a small way where we can recognise their hard work and dedication and come together to celebrate the huge contribution that the NHS, its staff and its volunteers make.

“I want to hear from you about any outstanding care you may have received in last year so we can nominate and celebrate the wonderful healthcare professionals that live in and or serve the people of Rushcliffe.”
