Ruth runs this competition annually to celebrate Small Business Saturday and shine a light on some of the most loved businesses in Rushcliffe. Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and buying local helps to strengthen this.

Ruth said “These competitions started as a way to support local businesses that had been affected by the COVID pandemic. Each year now, we have had more people voting for their favourite shop and pub and more businesses getting involved and I am delighted to be announcing the results today on Small Business Saturday

“We are very lucky in Rushcliffe to have so many fantastic shops and businesses in the heart of our communities. I know it’s so difficult to choose a favourite, but I’d like to thank everyone who voted and a big congratulations to the winners and runners-up for doing so well!

“It was also a new experience for me to present a runners-up certificate to Gary and Dave. The Little Boutique boasts the two hairiest shopkeepers I have ever met.”
