Replica firearms, jewellery and a large safe were stolen during a burglary.
The break-in was reported at an address in Rotherham Baulk, Carlton-in-Lindrick, and was discovered when the homeowner returned to the property on Friday evening.
Officers say the offenders, who broke in through a rear window to gain access to the property and took property valued at around £3,000, struck at some point between Monday and 3pm on Friday.
Detective Constable Jackie Price, of Nottinghamshire Police’s dedicated burglary unit, said:
“We were called on Friday evening when the homeowner returned from a few days away to find that his property had been broken into and ransacked.
“Investigations are ongoing and house to house enquiries have been conducted at nearby addresses.
“Whilst the guns taken are not real, we would still like to track them down and find those responsible for taking them.
“So if you saw or heard anything suspicious in this area during the last week we’d like to hear from you.
“We’d particularly like to hear from you if you have seen or ben offered for sale any items that look like the ones featured in these photographs. The safe in particular is very striking and may well jog some memories.”
