Dangerous weapons were seized and two suspects arrested following a disturbance in the early hours.
Police were called to Greenwood Road, Sneinton, after a man was spotted waving what appeared to be a sword at around 3.30am yesterday (Wednesday 23 March).
Officers were quickly on scene and found two men fighting in the street.
Both men ran off but officers tracked down and detained two suspects.
A samurai sword, pole and hammer were all recovered by police.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place and a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Detective Sergeant Laura Gooch, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As highlighted in this instance we will continue to work relentlessly, day and night, to tackle weapon-related incidents.
“I am pleased we managed to quickly secure two arrests in relation to this incident and seize potentially lethal weapons.”
