Second arrest in connection with Meadows stabbing

Officers have arrested a second man following reports of a fight where man was stabbed in the leg.

Officers were called to Pitcairn Close, in The Meadows, just after 10.20pm on Friday (23 April 2021) after reports that a fight had broken out in the street.

A man was reported to have been stabbed in the leg, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening or altering.

Following a search of the area, officers also recovered a knife.

A 33-year-old man was arrested on Monday 26 April 2021) on suspicion of affray, causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

This comes after a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon on Friday.

Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A second man has been arrested as part of our enquiries into this incident, which happened on Friday.

“We understand how concerning reports of this nature are, and this is why officers will always respond quickly whenever such a call comes through to us. “Our enquiries are ongoing and we would ask anyone who saw the incident or has any information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 928 of 23 April 2021.”

The arrest comes as Nottinghamshire Police takes part in Operation Sceptre, which began on Monday.
