A new proposal for a zebra crossing on Rectory Road is planned for Jan – Mar next year.
Tthe new zebra crossing is from a point on the north-east of Rectory Road approximately 6 metres south-west of its junction with Highfield Road in a north- easterly direction for 40 metres – and from a point on the south-west of Rectory Road from a point approximately 6 metres south-west of its junction with Highfield Road in a north- easterly direction for 40 metres.
Nottinghamshire County Council’s Highways Programme shows the mapped crossing and scheduled works dates below.
The crossing will incorporate a controlled area indicated by zig-zag markings along the carriageway where parking and loading will be prohibited at all times.
The crossing zig-zag lines cross the Highfield Road junction.
Some parking outside the Conservative offices ( not the club ) and the Tudor House office premises will be lost.
The crossing is being installed to assist pedestrians crossing the road.

Cllr Penny Gowland, who represents Abbey Ward and West Bridgford North Division for Labour told The Wire:
‘I am delighted that this crossing on Rectory Road is likely to get the go ahead as it is so important for health and well being that children can walk to school and older people can walk to the shops safely.
‘But we must start prioritizing pedestrians generally to make sure that they aren’t pushed off our streets: everybody has to walk sometimes.’
