A man is due in court after a security guard was spat at inside Nottingham’s Broad Marsh bus station.
Officers were called following the incident at around 10.30am on Tuesday (29 July).
It was reported the man spat in the security guard’s face after being told he was not allowed to sleep in the bus station.
Rakimi Abolghasem, aged 37, of no fixed address, has been charged with assault by beating. He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 19 August.
PC Tom Gregory, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Security guards are there to help people and to keep them safe and it is shocking when there is any incident of them being assaulted during the course of their work.
“Officers were quick to restrain the man following the incident. Assaults of this nature are taken very seriously and I am pleased we have been able to put the suspect before the courts.”
