The latest vaccination figures released this week show health workers have administered record breaking doses of vaccines in a single week in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
The latest vaccination figures released this week show that 54,136 doses of vaccines were processed in a single week in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Latest data shows that in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire we have administered 281,320 vaccinations to date (8 December -25 February).
A breakdown of the figures, alongside ONS population estimates, show more than 95% of our care home residents have received the vaccine, 93.9% of people aged 80+, 100% of people aged 75-79, 93.5% of people aged 70-74 and 81.8% of people aged 65-69.
In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, there are 3 Hospital Hubs, 7 Local Vaccination Services, a pharmacy-led site at The Towers in Mansfield and a large Vaccination Centre in Mansfield as well as a “roving team” of staff offering vaccinations to care homes residents and housebound people.
Dr Andy Haynes, Executive Lead, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, said: “Latest figures show we are making excellent progress with our vaccination programme, last week saw more than 54,0000 vaccines administered which is up 12% from the previous week and a fantastic effort by all involved.
“We are progressing well with the programme but there is still a small number of people in each priority group who have not yet received a vaccine. We will continue to work with our partners and volunteers to encourage everyone from all communities to take up the vaccine.
“Our vaccination programme is currently open to all those in the top 6 priority groups and we would urge all those who are eligible to book an appointment at their earliest convenience.”
In line with national guidance, Covid-19 vaccination booking is open for people who are identified in JCVI cohort 6.
This includes:
- Anyone between the ages of 16 to 65 with underlying health conditions which put them at a higher risk of serious disease or mortality. This is also known as “clinically vulnerable.” Read more about who is eligible here.
- Anyone who is in receipt of carer’s allowance.
- Anyone who is the main carer of an elderly or disabled person, whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.
If you are eligible under one of the above categories, you can book your Covid-19 vaccination appointment by visiting this booking link: https://www.swiftqueue.co.uk/nottinghamc19v-clinv.php or call the local booking line on 0115 883 4640 between 8am – 8pm during weekdays and 9am – 5pm on weekends.
Younger adults in long-stay in-patient, nursing and residential care settings are also eligible for vaccination under cohort 6 but will be vaccinated by our ‘roving team’ of vaccinators. The roving team will be with in touch with homes directly to book in dates for vaccinations.
If you are not eligible for vaccination, please do not try to book in for your Covid-19 vaccination appointment. It is important these appointments are protected for those who are now eligible under this cohort to help protect them against Covid-19.
Letters and texts to those eligible under the criteria, have also been sent to invite them to book for their Covid-19 vaccination. If you are eligible, you do not need to wait for your letter to book in.
Amanda Sullivan, Accountable Officer at NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, said: “We are pleased to be able to invite everyone who falls under the cohort 6 group for their Covid-19 vaccination. Locally, there are 100,000 people in this category so this is a huge logistical challenge and our teams are working extremely hard to get those eligible in for vaccination as swiftly as possible.
“Anyone who is eligible can now book in for their vaccination via the local booking site or by calling 0115 883 4640. I would urge anyone in this category to take up vaccination to help them protect themselves against Covid-19. If you are not eligible, please do not try to book in for vaccination. It is essential that we roll out the vaccination programme in a controlled way, prioritising those in most need of vaccination and following the JCVI guidance.
“We understand everyone is keen
