Sharphill Community Hall is set to open this summer, bringing a new venue for the Sharphill development community in Edwalton.
The brand-new facility on Cornelia Grove, will provide a space for residents, community groups, and local businesses to connect, collaborate, and celebrate.
The community centre will strengthen the local area by offering a new focal point that complements and supports new communities, designed to bring people together by supporting local activities, says the council.
At its heart is a spacious multi-purpose hall accommodating up to 40 people, ideal for clubs, fitness classes, meetings, and community gatherings. The venue also features a dedicated meeting room, a fully equipped kitchen, and accessible public toilets for visitors to the neighbouring allotments and community park.
A small storage facility has been included to support the ongoing work of the Friends of Sharphill Woods.
Visitors will benefit from free parking spaces, including accessible bays and cycle spaces. The building has been designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating solar panels and an air source heat pump to minimise its environmental impact and be as carbon-clever as possible.
The new facility, located off Rose Way, will enhance community facilities available locally, in line with Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) Leisure Strategy.
