Police are urging shoppers to be vigilant after reported incidents of purse dipping.
The warning has been issued after previous reported thefts in the Bulwell town centre area which are believed to have happened around the period running up to Christmas.
Shoppers are urged to be vigilant at all times, especially in busy areas and in queues, and to follow the below advice:
– Be aware of your surroundings and who’s around you, try not to get distracted by mobile phones.
– Don’t leave valuables on display and avoid keeping items in your back pocket.
– Try to carry your bag in front of you and keep your handbags, shopping bags and pockets zipped up.
If you see anything suspicious, report it to Nottinghamshire Police on 101 as soon as possible.
