Shotgun fired at a car in Worksop

A 43-year-old man was arrested in Mansfield in connection with the incident.

A man is in custody in connection with a report of a shotgun being fired in Worksop.

Police were initially called to Kingston Road in Worksop at around 11.40 am on Tuesday 23 June 2020 after a car was reported to have been shot at.

No one was injured in the incident and detectives at Nottinghamshire Police have been working hard to establish the circumstances.

A 43-year-old man was arrested in Mansfield in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Mark Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have been making a number of enquiries into the incident and are pleased to have made an arrest.

“We are now questioning the man in connection with the report of the gunshot as part of our investigation into the incident.

“Nottinghamshire Police takes reports of firearms offences very seriously and will always investigate reports thoroughly in order to find those responsible for committing such offences.

“While we have made an arrest, our enquiries are still ongoing and I would encourage anyone with any information to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 552 of 28 June 2020.”
