Revellers who gathered at an illegal house party last night were issued with a combined £1,200 in fines for violating Coronavirus restrictions.
Officers were called to a property in Birkland Street in Mansfield just before 8pm.
Six people at the address were each handed £200 fines and the party was dispersed.
Nottinghamshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Kate Meynell said: “The vast majority of people are sticking to the rules and following the Coronavirus legislation which is in place and we’re extremely grateful for this.
“However, as this weekend’s Covid-19 breaches have shown, the message doesn’t appear to be getting through to everybody.
“It is vital that we all play our part in reducing the spread of the virus and keeping each other safe.
“We will continue to engage with the public as we have done throughout this crisis, explain the restrictions in place and encourage them to comply.
“But let me be clear, we won’t tolerate people deliberately flouting the lockdown regulations. We will continue to take robust enforcement action because we simply cannot allow the selfish actions of a few to jeopardise the determined efforts of the many who are being responsible and are sticking to the rules to help save lives.”
