Six wanted men detained in Chilwell and Beeston

A convicted robber and three suspected shop thieves were all arrested during a targeted police operation in Chilwell and Beeston.
Members of the local beat team were looking for those who had either failed to attend court, were wanted on recall to prison, or were wanted for specific offences.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week officers made it a priority to track them down, and were successful in bringing six people into custody.

They were:

A 35-year-old man who’d failed to appear in court for theft offences

A 22-year-old man who’d fail to answer charges of assault, harassment and sharing intimate images

A 42-year-old theft suspect who’d also failed to appear

A 41-year-old robber wanted on recall to prison

A 39-year-old shoplifting suspect who failed to attend court

A 48-year-old man wanted for a string of 15 shop thefts across Beeston and Chilwell.

PC Sam Gledhill, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“These individuals were all wanted for various reasons. Some had already shown a complete disregard for the legal system by failing to turn up at court.

“As the old saying goes, justice delayed is justice denied – so I am pleased we were able to make a priority out of tracking these men down and arresting them.

“Some had been outstanding for quite some time and may have begun to thought they’d given us the slip.

“However, as they’ve just found out to their cost, we do run regular operations purely to catch up with those who are wanted.”
