Following on from a recent great performance(s) at the Cornwall International Choir Festival, the highly acclaimed South Notts Men’s Chorus will be competing next year in The Isle of Man Festival of Choirs which will take place from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October 2025.
From its inception in 2010 the Festival has quickly established itself and is now recognised as a serious, yet friendly, musical competition of stature and attracts choirs from around the UK and Ireland and wherever choral singing is enjoyed and celebrated.
The competition will be held in the Villa Marina situated on Douglas Promenade. The centrepiece is the Royal Hall, a state-of-the-art and spectacular auditorium that combines Edwardian grandeur and comfort with the latest sound and light system to create an amazing atmosphere. This venue is indeed a pride of the community and a phenomenal place to sing and perform.
SNMC is seeking to invite singers, who would like to compete, to audition for the choir.
There are two classes we intend to compete in. The first is for all choristers, the second for our semi-chorus. The semi-chorus is for experienced singers who must audition for the place and who will sing more intricate works.
If you would like to be part of either choir, please come along to our audition evenings to be held in July.
SNMC Musical Director said “Competing in the magnificent Truro Cathedral and other concerts at various locations including Porthleven, Mousehole, Trebah Gardens and Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm. Cornwall was such a wonderful experience. Next year we are looking forward to more”.
