The Rushcliffe Operation Reacher team were out conducting speed checks in and around West Bridgford and Rushcliffe villages.
The measures were after complaints from residents regarding speeding vehicles.
Officers checked Musters Road, Melton Road, the A60 at Bunny and other locations.
Nottinghamshire Police say that officers gave words of advice and education where possible rather than prosecution, but despite this approach officers reported numerous drivers for speeding where speeds were deemed excessive.
Officers also had reason to seize one of the vehicles.
A spokesperson said:
‘We encourage drivers to complete winter checks on their vehicles prior to driving to ensure they’re fully road-worthy, ensuring the tyres are correctly inflated as several checked today were dangerously low.
‘Driving with incorrectly inflated tyres seriously effects grip and braking distances which is more apparent in the colder temperatures and can also lead to 3 points on your driving licence and a large fine.’
