Stolen cables causing train delays between Mansfield and Worksop

There is a fault with the signalling system at Creswell between Worksop and Mansfield Woodhouse disrupting trains on the Nottingham/Mansfield/Worksop route.

East Midlands Railways said:

‘Network Rail engineers are replacing a power cable, as the old one has been stolen, there is a lot more cable to replace than anticipated so they are now not expecting these works to be finished until at least 1400 on Monday 24 May.’

‘Trains running through the area in the Worksop direction will be delayed by up to 15 minutes between Mansfield Woodhouse and Worksop.

‘Trains running through the area in the Mansfield Woodhouse direction can run normally between Worksop and Mansfield Woodhouse however may be delayed as they are returning from Worksop.

‘At present we are now not expecting the problem to be fixed for the next 2 hours.

‘As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again.

‘We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 1400.’
