A stolen car was recovered after it was spotted by officers.
The car was taken from an address in Hawthorne Avenue, Stapleford, overnight on Sunday and reported missing the following day.
It was spotted on Wollaton Road, Beeston, shortly before midday yesterday (Monday) and stopped by police who were on routine patrol.
During a roadside search a hammer was found inside.
A 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, possession of an offensive weapon, and driving without insurance.
He was later released on bail as investigations continue.
Sergeant Steve Willetts, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a good bit of work by officers who took swift action to arrest a suspect and return this vehicle to its owner.
“Theft and burglary offences can be very upsetting for victims and are each treated with the utmost seriousness by Nottinghamshire Police.”
