Streetfight in Sneinton Boulevard leads to four arrests

Four people have been taken into police custody after reports of a street fight.

Police arrived in Sneinton Boulevard, Sneinton, at around 9.40 am today and arrested four men, aged 33, 35, 40 and 60, on suspicion of affray.

Detectives are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the fight.

Two of the men were taken to hospital for treatment before being taken into custody for questioning.

It was claimed a weapon was used during the fight and police are now working to establish the circumstances.

Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Whenever a weapon is used in an incident there is always the potentially for dangerous consequences and it is lucky that no one was seriously injured.

“Officers did an excellent job to quickly arrive at the scene and arrest four suspects and we are not looking for anyone else as part of our enquiries.

“Nottinghamshire Police is committed to tackling violent crime and we will always work hard to take appropriate action against anyone who commits a weapons offence.

“Violent crime offences fell by 25 per cent in the last financial year thanks to the  ongoing work of Nottinghamshire Police and partners to prevent and enforce against such offences.

“We are now making enquiries into this incident and I would encourage anyone who has any information or camera footage on what happened to get in touch with us on 101 quoting incident number 138 of 3 August 2021.”
