A man has appeared in court after police recovered a stolen car within one hour of a burglary report.
Officers attended Kirkby Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 5 am on Wednesday (13 March) after the victim discovered her car was missing following an overnight break-in.
She then found the car keys had been stolen from inside her home along with a number of electrical items.
Police searched the area and located the stolen vehicle in Sutton-in-Ashfield around 5.45 am.
A suspect was arrested and officers also found a quantity of cannabis during searches.
A 20-year-old man from Sutton-in-Ashfield has been charged with burglary and possession of a Class B drug.
He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (14 March) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on 11 April at Nottingham Crown Court.

“Officers on patrol on Wednesday morning worked quickly and efficiently to trace the stolen car and arrest a suspect.
“Supporting victims of burglaries is a key priority for the force because we understand the impact this type of invasive crime can have on people.
“No one should have to wake up to discover their belongings have been ransacked and an intruder has been in their home.”
