Police have charged a suspect after a mobility scooter was stolen from a Nottingham man’s shed.
The 60-year-old victim’s electric wheelchair was taken in the middle of the night while he slept.
Officers were called to Wendover Drive, Aspley, following the burglary, which happened around 12.35am on 12 August.
After carrying out extensive inquiries into the incident, police were able to identify and arrest a suspect on Thursday (22 August).
The stolen scooter hasn’t yet been recovered by police.
A 60-year-old man has since been charged with burglary.
He has been released on conditional bail ahead of an appearance at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.
PC John Jackson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim in this case is understandably very upset that someone would steal their mobility scooter, which they rely on to get out and about in the community.
“After carrying out extensive inquiries, we are pleased to have now charged a suspect in connection with this burglary.”
