Suspect in court after Christmas Day burglary in Nottingham

Detectives investigating a break-in at a house have charged a man with burglary and placed him before the courts.

Police attended the address in Bells Lane, Cinderhill, Nottingham, after the victim reported someone had broken into her home while she was out at around 3 am on Christmas Day.

Officers located a suspect in the area just 10 minutes later and arrested him. A number of items were taken in the raid including clothes, bags and a photo frame.

A 31-year-old man from Nottingham has been charged with burglary.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Boxing Day and will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 23 January 2024.

Detective Sergeant Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Burglary is a priority for the force because of the impact it can have on victims. No one should have to discover their belongings have been ransacked by an intruder.

“All home break-ins are thoroughly investigated and we have a team of detectives working hard on these cases. I’m pleased we have quickly arrested and charged this suspect and placed him before the courts.”
