A suspect has appeared in court after officers were called to reports of a fight in Nottingham city centre.
It was reported a group of people were involved in an altercation which broke out in Old Market Square, at around 4.30 am on Saturday (22 June 2024), with some individuals involved then moving on to Exchange Walk.
A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with a facial injury and was later discharged.
Dureece Smith, aged 26, of Ransom Road, St Ann’s, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (24 June) charged with affray and possession of a knife in a public place.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on 22 July 2024.
The injured 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and was subsequently released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.
